Notes
Hi! I wasn't able to update the "start of june" section very much because I have been a very busy bee. I will fill out the sections here correctly, since they weren't able to be included in start of june.
Events
June 11th - Luna is nine years old now! Also, because I don't know Chopper's birthday, I will tally his age on the same day. He is one year old now! I made a post about Luna. I got her when I was eleven. She's not technically an old lady yet, but she is grumpy. Nevertheless, I do everything I can to make her feel happy, safe and loved. I brushed her, gave her many pats, and a yummy treat for her special day.
June 13th - This was my first time in Asheville! The rave was great. I got to travel with friends, dress up, enjoy music, and meet a bunch of super awesome people. I was fully sober (& DD), and I still had a lot of fun, even though I was exhausted the next day.
Cats
So, it turns out that Chopper will ONLY play with his toys if they are the little plastic spring toys. Both of them will also ONLY use a scratching post if it is vertical. Well, I finally bought them 48 springs (we originally had 6), and a twice-as-tall scratching post. Both of them love it. I have also started taking Chopper on walks again, and now he bolts out the door every chance he gets (this is good, it is a sign that he enjoys the walks and that they are enriching. As for Luna, I would like to take her out and see how she does, because she has enjoyed Supervised Outside Time before, she's just never used a harness before.
Plants
I am still developing my green thumb. Currently, I am propagating some of my plants (if anyone is a plant pro, in the area, & can come take a look at mine, please reach out!), but, unfortunately, my Thai Constellation Monstera is gone and cannot be revived. When I have the funds, I will purchase another that is more established so that I can focus on taking care of it rather than reviving it. I have already purchased the mixtures to make a good, well-draining monstera soil (orchid bark, pearlite, all-purpose potting soil), so hopefully I will be able to use it soon. I also retrieved a small fig plant on sale! I'm hoping to keep it thriving. As for my other plants that I am propagating, I will check up on them weekly and re-pot them when I have noticed root growth.
Personal Wellbeing
I have a new therapist now! I enjoy her. Together, we have made personal discoveries, including a breakthrough diagnosis. I am no longer on SSRIs (and do not engage in any substances, including alcohol and marijuana; however, I do still have caffiene, but I will be monitoring how it makes me feel), and I have continued to feel pretty dissociated, but I am hoping that it will lighten up soon. My sleep schedule has been on the fritz as well with 2 jobs, so I want to fix that ASAP. Right now, I work sometime between 10am and 7pm at my hourly job, and then I work from 7pm to about 11pm doing uber eats deliveries, and then I come home, do household chores, and then finally engage in hobbies if I have the energy to before bed. This has been an issue, as, even if I can get 8 hours from 1am - 9am and keep that schedule every day, I am absolutely exhausted, and it is incredibly difficult for me to wake up before 1pm on my off days. I am still working on a solution for this that would allow me to continue working both jobs while also letting me have a consistent sleep schedule. Now is the time to experiment, I suppose. I would also like to practice more of my DBT skills in my daily life, as well as being more clear in communication, kind, grateful / showing gratitude, and grounded. We will see! I have speciic phrases, actions, and people that help me, but my biggest one is just telling myself "I want to get better." I do what is hard, I break hard habits, etc, all because I want to get better.
